Why buy Whisky The Matsui Mizunara Cask
The Matsui Mizunara Cask is definitely a single malt whisky that is made to be enjoyed for its pleasant taste with oaky notes with oriental spices and a final touch, with hints of caramel. Go ahead and try it!
The Matsui Mizunara Cask is a single malt whisky that features original and unique flavours that maturing in mizunara oakcasks gives it. Distillates aged in this type of oak get these flavours when they take place in Tottori prefecture, which is a natural environment where the temperature varies drastically from season to season, and then diluted with high quality natural spring water from Mont Daisen. It also makes an excellent gift choice because the label is illustrated with Katsushika Hokusai's painting Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
The first thing that strikes the eye about The Matsui Mizunara Cask is its light amber colour.
When poured into the glass and allowed to aerate, the aroma is fresh, with aromas of vanilla and a hint of spice.
Finally, on the palate, freshness, a certain complexity and roundness with notes of oak with oriental spices and a final touch, with hints of caramel.
Pairing. How to taste it
We at Yo pongo el hielo recommend serving it neat or on the rocks to enjoy its nuances even more.
A little bit of history about The Matsui Mizunara Cask...
It is a masterpiece made with heart and passion by the Matsui team who are located in Kurayoshi City, Japan (Tottori Prefecture). The site is surrounded by the countryside and has an abundance of fresh water that is generously supplied by snowfall from the Daisen mountain range. The subtropical climate is partly due to its proximity to the Sea of Japan.
The qualities that characterise Matsui Whisky include not only the shape of the copper stills, but also the environmental conditions that produce the ageing.
The Matsui team has passed scrupulous blind tastings at prestigious international competitions that recognise whisky quality and excellence and 2019 was the first time it won several major awards at the World Whiskies Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the International Whisky Competition in the United States.
It's in the Top 210 of economic and cheap products of Whisky and in the Top 2630 of our best seller products.
