Gulden Draak, the name given to the brand by its founders, translates as "the golden dragon". This dragon is taken as a symbol of power and independence, since it travelled adorning the bow of the Norwegian King Sigurd Magnusson on his crusades in the early 12th century between Scandinavia and the bell tower of Ghent. The brewery's aim is to take that identifying value of being as powerful as the golden dragon, and its fiery colour is unrivalled in flavour and aroma.
