Why buy Whisky Craigellachie 17 Years

After many years of waiting, an official bottling of Craigellachie single malt was released in 2014. The 17 year old expression really shows the fleshy spirit of this Speysider. Smooth, mellow, fresh and summery, ideal for enjoying and sharing on any occasion.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

A bronze colour when poured, the nose picks up a fresh, summery aroma with bright, fruity notes of pears, redcurrants and grape juice with noticeable aromatic nuances of vanilla with a little light oak. The palate has a very refreshing taste, with slightly acidic citrus, but balanced with hints of honey and vanilla custard; plus spicy and American wood flavours. A medium-long finish, with a spicy finish and an aftertaste of almonds and lemon.

A little bit of history about Craigellachie 17 Years...

Craigellachie Distillery was built in 1890 in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. From the outset it was conceived with the aim of giving a fruitier character to the whisky than the older distilleries. Today, Bacardi owns the distillery and has maintained all the manufacturing processes to maintain the quality of this whisky.
