The process of creating the Tequila Don Julio is as unique as the tequila itself. Since the cultivation of agave plant, the American white oak barrels in which it ages, it becomes a craft that requires the practiced hands of skilled people in the art of tequila.
Each bottle of Tequila Don Julio is made from blue agave plants 100% hand-picked from the highlands of Jalisco, one of the regions most fertile agave farming country. Each agave plant is allowed to grow between seven and ten years before being harvested, allowing to develop a mellow agave that Tequila Don Julio is known for. It is this attention to quality, craftsmanship and tradition what positions the Tequila Don Julio apart from the others and become the best tequila in the world of luxury.
Color: two and half years of aging in American oak impart to 1942 its signature color: a dark, translucent amber, with flecks of gold.
Nose: aromas of vanilla and sweet tones of nuts, almonds and chocolate are combined with exotic essence of cinnamon and a light oak.
Taste: silky smooth on the palate with flavors of roasted agave, vanilla, sun-ripened tropical fruits and spicy nuances layers. Notes warm oak, pepper and cinnamon culminate in an undeniably unique ultra smooth experience.
Finish: a sweet finish, with lingering notes of agave oak and rich vanilla essence.
