Why buy Whisky Jameson Distiller's Safe

Coming from Ireland, it has been selected by Brian Nation to be able to show the purity of everything that comes out of this distillery.

This grain whisky has been aged between 4 and 7 years exclusively in American oak barrels. Jameson whiskies are made by blending a non-distilled whisky made from malted barley and unmalted, with the finer grain whisky, both of which have been distilled up to three times for a certain smoothness. The barley comes from the area and the water from the River Dungourney flows through the distillery. The non-genetically modified maize they use is brought in from the south of France. The technique of triple distillation is something that its founder John Jameson implemented and to this day the distillation director Brian Nation still respects it and although they did some tests making a fourth distillation the result was not the expected one, so they keep it at three, for them it is the lucky number. Jameson resorts to the United States and Spain when it comes to stocking up on barrels, these barrels that have had bourbon in them give them personality, touches of wood and vanilla.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

It has a golden colour, floral aromas and fresh herbs. The sweetness of the barley sugar is combined with the succulence of grapefruit and green pepper with a touch of marzipan. In our palate its beginnings are sweet detecting the cinnamon and touches of liquorice. A vibrant note of mandarin makes its appearance from the hand of the nut and ground almond. The final note is light and spicy.

Pairing. How to taste it

It is recommended to take it alone, or accompanied by ice to enjoy its nuances.

A little bit of history

The distillery first opened in 1780 under the name of The Steins Family Bow Street Distillery until John Jameson came to Ireland and revolutionised the world of Irish whisky. John became General Manager of the distillery in 1786 and took it over completely in 1805. Five years later the name was changed to The John Jameson and Sons Irish Whiskey Company, better known as Jameson. It gradually grew to become Ireland's largest distillery.

After the declaration of independence from Great Britain, the distillery began a trade battle with Great Britain. The whisky business in Scotland skyrocketed as a result of extremely cheap exports to Canada. Jameson wanted to ensure that its legacy would continue into the future and decided to partner with the Cork Distillers Company and John Powers. In 1976 the New Middleton Distillery was first opened.
