It is made using a single malted cereal that is distilled in traditional copper stills, after which it is mixed with the spring water, and left to age for 8 years in French oak barrels, where bourbon was previously aged.

This fantastic whisky was awarded a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2019.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

This whisky has a light golden color with a slight coppery touch.

On the nose it has an aroma reminiscent of fresh malted barley and dried fruit.

In the mouth we notice sweet toasted nut and vanilla flavours, with a very light finish reminiscent of pure spring water.

This whisky is recommended to be drunk alone or with little ice, so that you can enjoy all its nuances.

A little bit of history about The Kurayoshi 8 Years...

Matsui Distillery is located on Mount Daisen and has been produced at the Matsui Shuzou facility northwest of Kyoto and northeast of Hiroshima since 1910.

Kurayoshi prides itself on the crystalline mountain waters filtered through the volcanic stone in processing.
