Why buy Sweet | Fortified Wine Harveys Palo Cortado

Palo cortado is a variety that has proven to be for discerning palates. If you like the sensory, enjoy a glass of wine ... Harveys wants to surprise you.

This is the origin of Harveys Palo Cortado, a premium wine from this winery, which combines the subtlety of an amontillado with the round flavour of an oloroso.

Made from 100% Palomino grapes, the appellation of origin Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. These grapes come from the Jerez Superior area and are processed using the traditional system of criaderas and soleras. In fact, the solera from which this wine originates dates back to 1906.

A singularity turned into delight, where in moments of meeting with the family or with a good friend, before eating and during the meal it becomes the best option, if you really want to look for the perfection. Is it your case?

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

When you pour yourself a glass of this Harveys Palo Cortado, its bright amber colour with an old gold rim shows a wine with a lot of life.

On the nose, we will appreciate hazelnut notes with hints of oak. A sharp aroma with citrus and lactic notes that give it unctuousness.

On the palate, a unique wine full of nuances, its elegant and subtle flavour in the mouth, with an attenuated and persistent finish, shows an ageing that makes us delight.

Pairing. How to taste it

This Harveys Palo Cortado wine should be consumed chilled between 12 and 15°, in a wine glass or wine tasting glass, in order to maintain all its characteristics.

We recommend drinking it as an aperitif or during meals as an ideal accompaniment to fish stews, game, lamb, sausages and cured cheeses.

It is also a wine that fits perfectly for the elaboration of cocktails.

A little bit of history about Harveys Palo Cortado...

Harvey was born in 1796 in Bristol, when William Perry became a major exporter of Sherry between the city's port and the Bay of Cadiz. Years later, at the end of the 19th century, John Harvey re-founded the company to specialise in the exclusive production of Sherry.

Today, it owns one of the largest vineyards in Jerez, covering 250 hectares. It has ideal climatic conditions for the production of this wine. Moreover, the brand is the only one in Spain that can boast the official seal of The Royal Warrant, which certifies it as a supplier to the British Royal Household.

Harveys Palo Cortado has won numerous awards and mentions. Among them we have to highlight the Trophy and Gold Medal of the International Wine Challenge 2017, the Gold Medal of the Bacchus 2017 and the Gold Medal of the Mezquita Awards 2017.
