A little bit of history about Jack Daniel's...

Several legends accompany the birth of the Tennessee brand. Opening of the factory in 1875, Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel's helped by a grocer in its beginnings, birth of the creator in 1846... However, the truth is different. Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel, of Welsh descent, was born in 1850 and only 16 years later founded his own distillery with the help of Nearis Green, an African-American slave and master distiller. The absence of offspring meant that Jack Daniel passed the baton to his nephew Lem Motlow, who went on to lead the distillery after his uncle's death in 1911 following an infection caused by kicking a safe to open it.

Several master distillers later, Jack Daniel's has established itself as one of the finest whiskey brands on the market, and an emblem of American life.
