A little bit of history about Tullamore Dew XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish...

In the geographical centre of the island of Ireland lies the village of Tullamore on the banks of the River Shannon. In 1829 the distillery of the same name was founded by the famous distiller Michael Molloy. The location was perfect as it was surrounded by unbeatable pure watercourses that fed the surrounding barley fields.
But the man who gave birth to this whisky was Daniel Edmond Williams, who found work at the distillery at the age of fourteen and spent his nights there. He eventually became an expert distiller and was chosen as the general manager of the establishment in 1887, as the heir to the firm was not interested in running the business. It was the right decision. Daniel immediately introduced improvements and created and branded the distillery with his own initials. Eventually his family became the largest shareholder in the company. Daniel's grandson, Desmond, later decided it was a good idea to represent the spirit of the label through the image of the familiar Irish "wolf-dogs", which reflect what they understand best about the people of the island - loyalty, tradition, strength and friendship.

That first product is known to this day as Tullamore Dew, the original blend of lemony notes and hints of spice. Its barrels are charred on the inside, which gives it a particularly smooth taste. For many, its particularly sweet taste makes it an excellent aperitif. It is the second best-selling Irish brand in the world, being the fastest growing at the moment, which makes it the No. 1 in sales in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, among others. In the latter country and in Latvia, it outsells any Scotch whisky brand.
Today Tullamore is considered the second largest producer of Irish whiskey in the world.
