A little bit of history about Guajiro Roble...

There was a time when sugar cane plantations extended along the Tenerife coastline. The families in this area located in the northeast corner of the island of Tenerife made a living from its cultivation, harvesting and distillation. In 1948, Alfredo Martín Reyes, José Rodríguez Tascón and the company Hijos de Juan Rodríguez S.A. joined forces to found Destilería San Bartolomé de Tejina S.A.

The years went by and the distillery became the Cooperativa Canaria de Aguardientes y Licores, which gave it the name that has remained popularly remembered: COCAL. The industrial activity on which this village was based continued to grow until it took on a regional scope that perfectly matched the Canarian style that characterises its distillates. It was then that the Martín Rodríguez family, with a strong presence in the rum sector in the Canary Islands as owners of Arehucas, decided to take a closer look at Destilería de Tejina and add this enterprising family business to their group.

Its rums and varieties are among the most awarded liqueurs of all. In fact, this Guajiro Roble has up to 8 awards, where the last one it received was Bronze Medal International Spirits Challenge 2020.
