Ron Barceló originated in 1929, when Julián Barceló arrived in the Dominican Republic with the purpose of producing a rum that would go down in history as the best in the world, and it was just a year later, in 1930, when he founded Barceló & Co.

Its headquarters (plant and distillery) are located in the Dominican city of San Pedro de Macorís. Barceló is the best-selling rum brand in the Spanish market, and one of the most recognised worldwide for its unquestionable quality, proven after many decades of work.

They are governed by the RON DOMINICANO standard, which guarantees compliance with the rum's denomination of origin, being the first product of a collective brand in the Dominican Republic.
