Why buy Rum Don Papa Baroko

Don Papa Baroko is a rum that comes from the Philippines and is made with one of the best sugar canes in the world that comes from the Bisayas Islands that enhance its flavour with citrus notes, fruit cake and a finish that enchants and calls for another glass.

Thanks to the perfect combination of climate, geography and rich volcanic soil that Negros Occidental (capital of the Philippines) has, it is the ideal place for the production of such a premium rum as Don Papa Baroko. It is aged for more than 7 years in American oak barrels giving it a smooth and delicate taste that makes it ideal to be enjoyed with just a couple of ice cubes.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

When pouring a glass of Don Papa Baroko rum, its golden colour with amber tones catches the eye. On the nose, you will perceive intense aromas with spicy notes and a cinnamon sensation combined with toasted woody notes. When you drink it, you will feel a flavour fusion of vanilla notes, caramel extracts, espresso, cinnamon and cloves, with a hint of fresh ginger.

Pairing. How to taste it

You can enjoy Don Papa Baroko in a glass with a couple of ice cubes so that you can perceive the different nuances that give it the characteristic aroma and flavour of this rum.

A little bit of history about Don Papa Baroko...

The name Don Papa Baroko rum is inspired by the story of one of the famous heroes of the Philippine revolution, Dionisio Magbuelas.

Dionisio was known as "Papa" Isio and was an overseer of a sugar cane plantation, but when he realised the constant abuse of black slaves on the island, he fought against Spanish rule which eventually brought liberation and independence to his country.
