Each variety is aged separately for 25 months in new French oak barrels (60%) and mixed oak barrels (40%). After a final racking, the final blend is made and the wine spends 5 more months as a harmonious whole in the barrel.

To finish the process, it will spend 2 years in the bottle before being released to the market.

When pouring a glass of Montecillo Edición Limitada, you are struck by its ruby colour and medium-high depth.

On the nose, aromas of red and black fruits combine with spices of different origins, fruit liqueur and marked toasted notes.

On the palate, it has a very good acidity that accompanies the fruit, spices and a good ageing that opens the way to a long and persistent finish.

Bodegas Montecillo was founded in 1870. It is the oldest in Fuenmayor and the third oldest in Rioja.
