A Brief History of The Glenrothes 12 Years Old...

The Glenrothes is an award-winning Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky of exceptional quality.

The corresponding vintages from the 1970s and 1980s are increasingly hard to come by. The 1989 vintage is one of those truly special ones. This whisky has matured for two decades in a combination of Spanish and American oak casks, previously seasoned with sherry and whisky. The combination brings citrus notes and a delightful flavor of cooked orange, evident on the nose and palate.

The distillery The Glenrothes is located on a tributary of the River Spey in Scotland. Speyside is universally recognized as the heartland of single malt whisky distillation.

Thanks to the unusually slow distillation process in specially tall copper stills, our spirit possesses a sweet, fruity, and elegant character. The flavors are derived from our extensive knowledge of maturation in oak casks.
