Why buy Whisky Glen Grant Single Malt 12 Years

This Glen Grant 12 year old whisky has achieved the flavour of a single malt with a mature taste and a characteristic sweetness. This has made it considered one of the best malt whiskies in Scotland.

In the brewing process, nature plays a decisive role in defining a single malt since water, which comes from the Highlands of Scotland, is fundamental to the composition of Glen Grant. After this, the malting process moistens the barley and then spreads the grain to obtain it in the desired conditions.

To obtain a clear, fresh and light malt, specially elongated distillers and purifiers are used in a single distillation process so that only the purest vapors pass through. After this, the whisky is aged in barrels specifically selected by Master Distiller Dennis Malcolm.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

Glen Grant 12 years old is a whisky that presents, at first sight, a golden yellow color, clean and crystalline.

Its aroma is very intense and evades us to fruity, toasted and smoked notes.

In the mouth it is smooth and fresh, with a combination of ripe fruit from the orchard. The finish is long and persistent, but always smooth.

Pairing. How to taste it

We are not discovering gunpowder if we say that the best way to drink this whisky is on its own or with a little ice, so that we can appreciate all the nuances it gives off, both in the mouth and in the nose.

A little bit of history about Glen Grant Single Malt 12 Years...

The proximity of the port of Garmouth, the River Spey and the barley plantations, made the brothers John and James Grant request, in 1840, a license to distil since they had all the basic ingredients for the production of malt whisky.

In 1872 the distillery was inherited by the young James Grant, in addition to the title "Glen Grant" by his uncle John Grant.

This young man became the first man in the Highlands with his own car, in addition, Glen Grant was the first distillery with electric light. But the most important innovation was the tall and thin stills and purifiers, with which he managed to create the fresh taste of malt.

In 1931 the last member of the Glen Grant family died and designated, as his successor, his grandson Douglas MacKessack.

In 1983, Dennis Malcolm became the Master Distiller of Glen Grant after having started his career in the company as an apprentice cooper at the age of 15. Since then, Dennis has dedicated his life to maintaining the quality of the brand with the goal of ensuring customer satisfaction.
