The color of this whisky is a clear amber, with a smell of banana, spices, marshmallow, oil and fruit. As for the taste, notes of caramel and spices with a slight spicy touch are appreciated.

The perfect way to drink this whisky according to Jack Daniel himself is as follows:

This whisky offers several cocktail options, one of them is the Tennessee Rye Manhattan, traditionally made with sweet and dry vermouth in equal parts, but we can only say that it is perfect if a touch of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye is added and it is made in the following way:

1. fill half of a cocktail shaker glass with ice cubes.
2. add 50 milliliters of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye, 12.5 milliliters of sweet vermouth, 12.5 milliliters of dry vermouth and 2 dashes of bitter and stir for 10 seconds.
3. pour the liquid into the glass.
4. decorate with lemon peel.

Other cocktails that can be made with Jack Daniel's Rye are the "Tennessee Rye Old Fashioned", the "Tennessee Rye Neat, Up or Rocks" or the "Rye Ball".

A little bit of history about Jack Daniel's Rye...

In 1864 Jack is taken in by the Reverend Dan Call where a slave named Nathan "Nearest" Green teaches him the art of producing whisky, as a thank you, two years later he is hired as Master Distiller when he founds Jack Daniel's Distillery. Years later the distillery moves to be closer to its main resource, collected from the Spring Hollow mineral cave.

After the death of the founder, his nephew Lem Motlow took over the management of the business, and his younger brother Jess took over the production of the whisky, although between 1911 and 1933 they could no longer market the product due to the Dry Law, and during the Second World War sales were also halted in order to use the resources to supply the needs of those fighting on the front.

Since 1988, Jack Daniel's has been launching different products of its range to the market until in 2017 it launches Jack Daniel's Tennessee Rye, the newest product of the brand that we can find today in the market.
