Absolut Mandrin was launched in 1999, 20 years after Absolut Vodka. It’s the fourth flavored Absolut product after Absolut Peppar, Absolut Citron and Absolut Kurant. And since mandarin and orange are among the most popular flavors in the world, Absolut Mandrin was received with the same enthusiasm as the rest of the family members.
In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation process that distills the Absolut Rent Bränvinn (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of the usual three or four times, Absolut vodka is distilled infinite number of times. Absolut Mandrin is made the same way , the only difference is the aded taste of orange, mandarin and citrus. And like the rest of the family, is distilled in Åhus, City of birth of Smith. Since the process will never change, neither will the true taste of Absolut Mandrin.
The main ingredients in Absolut Mandrin are Absolut Vodka and orange, mandarin and citrus. Absolut Vodka is made from water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well of Åhus protected against impurities. The winter wheat is also grown in Åhus and differs from other crops in the fact that are planted in autumn and harvested the following year. Meanwhile it grows under the Swedish snow developing a hard grain. In addition, minimizing the use of fertilizers. Though mandarin and orange is the main flavors, other citrus fruits are added to give Absolut Mandrin its perfect character.
Absolut Citron is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike most other flavored vodkas, it does not contain added sugar. It’s complex, smooth and mellow with a fruity mandarin and orange character mixed with a note of orange peel.
