When you pour a glass of Montecillo Crianza you are struck by its intense, medium-high cherry red colour.

On the nose it has powerful, fruity and sweet aromas with aromas of American wood combined with notes of coffee with milk and a background of liquorice typical of the Tempranillo variety.

On the palate, its flavour is so smooth and expressive that it leaves a long, elegant finish with notes of excellent quality wood that integrate perfectly with the clean, ripe and explosive fruit.

Bodegas Montecillo was founded in 1870. It is the oldest in Fuenmayor and the third oldest in Rioja. With more than 150 years of experience making wine, it maintains a solid philosophy of respect for the vineyard, selection of the best grapes, consistent vinification, ageing in high quality oak barrels and refining in the quietness of its impressive cellars, where bottles of vintages dating back to 1926 are kept.
