When Citadelle Old Tom Gin is served in the glass, its golden colour catches the eye. On the nose, it has a fresh and strong aroma with initial notes of juniper, orange zest and cardomomom that becomes floral and vegetal, with hints of jasmine and honeysuckle, hints of fennel and almost sweet cumin with coffee. The palate is full and elegant, with a sweet and sour profile of pickled lemon zest, mugwort, aniseed and almond that lingers and develops into spicy notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and cubeb pepper, leading to a luscious, floral, spicy and woody finish with hints of coriander, violet, angelica, cumin, grains of paradise and liquorice.

Citadelle Old Tom Gin is a perfect drink to enjoy neat on the rocks or to accompany a good meal prepared with shellfish such as oysters, clams, mussels and razor clams or with white fish such as hake and cod.

A little bit of history about Citadelle Old Tom Boxed Bottle...

Citadelle Old Tom Gin is the first gin of the "Citadelle Extremes" innovation project launched by Alexandre Gabriel, founder of Maison Ferrand.

The aim of this project is to produce gins with an appealing flavour, which is why, in addition to 22 botanicals, it includes a new ingredient, brown sugar, which is very similar to demerara sugar and was discovered by Alexandre on one of his trips to the Caribbean. To include this ingredient, it undergoes an initial caramelisation process, then it is lightly toasted, alcoholised and blended with Citadelle Réserve. This blend is then aged for approximately 5 months in barrels using the solera system.

The final result, a premium gin that has won several awards and recognitions in very important competitions worldwide.
