Why buy Beer Discontinued Vedett Extra Ordinary IPA

Vedett IPA will not leave you indifferent, you will be surprised by each drink for its tasty and mild bitterness, your thirst will disappear giving way to the refreshing power of IPA.

Its acronym IPA, Indian Pale Ale, is an Indian style of beer created with four American hops and with a dry-hopping process. This process consists in adding some previously selected hops to the secondary fermenter after the first fermentation is completed, which adds aroma to the beer without increasing its bitterness.

This process is usually used in IPAS and Pale ale, Vedett has been created by Duvel Morrrtgat, a brewery founded in 1871 by Jan-Leonard Moortgat, which was one of the 4000 breweries that could be found in Belgium in those years. In 1900 Albert and Victor, Jan's sons, joined the company, one as a distributor and one as a master brewer.

This Belgian beer was created by Albert Moortgat, in 1871 from the Duvel Moortgat brewery. In 2003, after a period in the oblivion, it was launched again to the market, in a very short time it became a beer present in many restaurants and bars of glasses of Belgium. Vedett can be found in another version as the Extra Blond.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

This artisan beer has an orange color with a golden touch and a lot of foam. In aroma we find some notes of tropical fruits like grapefruit. In the mouth it has a characteristic bitter taste with a caramel background.

Pairing. How to taste it

Your perfect companion for your pasta dishes or marinades, since its peculiar bitterness makes the already spiced dishes increase their flavor. A good example would be Indian food because of the amount of spices it contains.

A little bit of history about Vedett Extra Ordinary IPA...

Albert, the master brewer, travelled to Scotland in 1945 to obtain a strain of yeast that is still used today in the brewing of Duvel beers. In the following video you will be able to observe better its texture and color.
