The Tanqueray story begins in 1830, when Charles Tanqueray started distilling gin in Bloomsbury, London.

On his death, his son inherited the distillery and moved it to Goswell Road after the merger with Gordon. Many years later, the distillery was moved to Scotland in 1988, more specifically to Cameron Bridge.
