Why buy Gin Martin Miller's Winterful
If you're a fan of good gins, you can't miss this special winter edition of Martin Miller's.
The most awarded gin in the world, launches this version inspired by the botanical ingredients commonly used in homemade hot wine recipes made in England and Ireland. It aims to pay tribute to the brand's dual heritage, an English gin mixed with Icelandic spring water. It is created from the classic Martin Miller's Original Gin, which has a perfect balance between citrus and juniper.
The ingredients used to make Winterful include tangerine peel and cinnamon. Martin Miller's Original, the brand's iconic product from which Winterful was born, is distilled in stills through two different distillations, giving it the characteristic unique balance between citrus and juniper. In the search for the perfect gin, Martin pointed out that the botanists selected should be based on their quality and not only on their region of origin.
Once the best ingredients had been obtained, the distillation process would be carried out in a traditional copper still with sufficient capacity to guarantee uniform quality. Furthermore, only the heart of the liqueur could be used, the rest would be thrown away. But Martin wanted to go further, and one day he had the idea of distilling the same botanicals in different combinations and then mixing them in different proportions so that he could have more control over the final result of the gin.
Although he did not know it, this was against the rules set by the Taliban regime of gins. What was really important for him was to achieve a gin with a perfect balance by mixing a distillate with a predominance of citrus fruit with one that did not have such elements. The final result was a gin with juniper in mind, as in all good gins, but with a certain citric freshness.
Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
Cinnamon, cardamom and tangerine peel give this gin complexity and warmth, with the ever-present aromas of its original version.
Pairing. How to taste it
It can be drunk both hot and cold, accompanied by a quality tonic that takes special care of the carbonic and flavour.
The Man Behind The Gin
Nonconformist, entrepreneurial and avant-garde, these are some of the adjectives that characterise the inventor of the gin of the same name, Martin Miller. This versatile man took a few steps into the world of photography, managed a few concerts and published the famous Miller's Antique Price Guide in which he spoke of his passion for antiques and the knowledge he possessed about them. On the other hand, he also entered the real estate sector by acquiring a chain of hotels that were spread throughout London and the rest of the country.
He also founded Miller's Academy, a centre where many conferences were held in the field of science and humanities, but after a while he got bored and decided to take on the challenge of making the perfect gin together with two friends. Thanks to the dedication and special attention to detail, the first super premium gin in the world was born. Martin was a very sociable person who enjoyed meeting people, which made him the perfect embodiment of the role of ambassador for his gin of the same name. This multifaceted and admirable man finally passed away in 2013, leaving a legacy that will always be with us.
