Why buy Brandy Tornería Solera Gran Reserva
Tornería Solera Gran Reserva, a brandy of selection, personality, special and inspiration, more than 20 years old.
It has a special elaboration, as this blend arises from the blending of different old brandies, among them Brandy E.
Tornería has the peculiarity of resting in two American oak casks, each one corresponding to a different type of cask; an old Oloroso and a Pedro Ximénez.
This method of elaboration has taken years of trials, errors and successes. Moreover, it makes Tornería an exclusive and limited brandy, since each series, as the brand states, will be exclusive and unrepeatable.
Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
It has a balanced and silky aroma, with notes of tobacco, nutmeg, noble wood, sultanas, toasted and aged holandas... Its flavour is intense, with aniseed and smoky aftertaste.
Pairing. How to taste it
The ideal is to drink it dry, in a glass with ice cubes and a little brandy, to fully enjoy the exclusivity of its flavour.
A little bit of history about Tornería Solera Gran Reserva...
Tornería is a brandy from Mora-Figueroa Domecq, an exclusive and renowned brandy and sherry wine brand.
The name of this elixir, Tornería, comes from a street in Cádiz, where the Marquis of Montana built a beautiful baroque style palace in 1776. When he died, his wife donated the palace to the Church, something the deceased had requested.
Fifty years later, the figure of Jean Pierre Domecq appeared, who bought the palace, initiating the family's relationship with Tornería Street.
The Domecq family started in the alcohol business somewhat by chance. Patrick Murphy, a childless bachelor who arrived in Spain in 1725, set up a bodega in 1730. When he died, having no children, he left his drinking business to his friend Jean Haurie, who also had no children, so he turned to his nephews.
The Haurie y Sobrinos brand suffered a crisis during the War of Independence due to the participation of some of them in the battalions, which caused the winery to be transferred to a great-nephew, Pedro Domecq Lembeye, updating the name of the brand to Bodegas Pedro Domecq. And that is how the history of the brand began and continues to this day.
