Bright, dark cherry red cherry colour. Intense and complex on the nose, with aromas of red and black fruits, some spices and a touch of vanilla, derived from the wood. On the palate it is full-bodied, structured and balanced with spicy, toasty flavours and a long, lingering finish.

Pairing. How to taste it

We recommend drinking it tempered, at a temperature of 16-18ºC, in a red wine glass. We strongly recommend decanting or uncorking this wine one hour before drinking to allow its full aroma and flavour to awaken. Pata Negra is the best quality that can be found in a Serrano ham, as it is the physical hallmark of 100 % Iberian pigs. The identification between Pata Negra and quality has been taken to other areas in a figurative sense, especially in gastronomy. Thus, as in this case, a 'Pata Negra wine' means exactly the same as a 'wine of extraordinary quality'.

Pata Negra wine is produced by García Carrión. Born in 1890 in Jumilla, it has become the largest winery in Europe and the fifth largest in the world and was chosen as the best winery in the world over 500 hectares in the 'Golden League 2019'.

García Carrión has several wineries specialising in different types of wines and D.O. Specifically, Pata Negra is made at the Bodega Marqués de Carrión, located in Labastida, La Rioja. It was acquired by this wine titan in 2006 and has more than 15,000 m2 built, in 2011 it was recognised as the most important winery in Spain.
