A Brief History of Augustijn Blond...
Augistijn Blond is part of the Abbey beers family, inspired by traditional monk recipes. The name Augistijn refers to Saint Augustine, one of the Fathers of the Catholic Church and founder of the Augustinian order. The Van Steenberge Brewery has a long history dating back to 1784, when Jean Baptiste De Bruin founded the De Peer Brewery. In 1919, his niece Margriet married Paul Van Steenberge, who gave the company its current name. Since then, the brewery has been passed down through generations, maintaining its tradition and quality.
