A little bit of history about Beefeater Light...

In 1876, a London pharmacist named James Burrough started distilling a drink called Beefeater at the Chelsea Distillery. The name of the gin is in honour of the ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London, called, in addition to Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, Beefeaters. Consumption of this drink soared in popularity, moving twice to larger factories in order to keep up with the widespread demand until finally settling at its current home in Kennington.

The 20th century was undoubtedly the century of the brand's consolidation, becoming the main drink exported to the United States and conquering most of the world's markets.

After so many years, the new Beefeater Light is now being launched with half the alcohol content, in order to fit in with a healthier lifestyle, with the same characteristics that have made it unmistakable.
