Why buy Discontinued Gin Puerto de Indias Guadalquivir

True to its desire to continue innovating, the Andalusian distillery has not ceased in its efforts to move forward and try new flavours, including several very peculiar ones that have become its latest "signing": peach, orange and elderflower.

The starting point was the strawberry. This exquisite fruit, with a marked aphrodisiac character and with properties such as keeping the skin hydrated or preventing colds due to vitamin C, was the focal point of one of the main companies in the market: Puerto de Indias.

Also known as peach, the fruit of the peach tree has its origins in Afghanistan, China and Iran, although it is now widespread throughout much of the world, including our country. But it is not the only component of Puerto de Indias Guadalquivir, the latest creation of the Sevillian company that pays tribute to the river that runs through it and which has been one of the main reasons for its flourishing. Orange, juniper and elderflower, as well as pure spring water, are the other guests at a feast for the palate that is made in copper stills with more than a century of history and through a slow production process following the teachings of the ancestors.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

The classic Puerto de Indias bottle, transparent, with the seal of the Carmona company and a blue label with peach-coloured lettering, protects this Sevillian elixir from unwanted visitors. Once poured into a glass, it presents a bright colour with peach tones, which are accentuated by the aroma of fruit accompanied by juniper, orange and elderflower. Finally, it is intense on the palate, with ample peach and orange on the palate.

Pairing. How to taste it

As for the best way to enjoy it, Yo pongo el hielo recommends serving it in a balloon glass, plenty of ice, a neutral tonic, an orange twist, a cinnamon stick and 20 cl. of Puerto de Indias Guadalquivir. On the other hand, it can also be combined with orange or lemon soft drinks to accentuate the citrus presence.

A little bit of history about Puerto de Indias Guadalquivir...

The 19th century in Spain, and mainly in the north of the country, was marked by the Carlist Wars, which pitted the supporters of Carlos María Isidro de Borbón, known as Carlists, against the defenders of Isabel, the legitimate queen. In the midst of these conflicts, many Spaniards from the north decided to emigrate to other geographical locations, as was the case with a Basque named Izaguirre who in 1880 opened his own distillery in Carmona (Seville). This was the beginning of facilities that have continued to operate ever since and which have witnessed and been responsible for the birth of the Puerto de Indias brand, one of the most recognised on the world market.

Puerto de Indias Guadalquivir is a fantastic Premium Gin with the aroma of Elderflower, Orange and Peach with an alcoholic strength of 37.5% and originating in Spain, without doubt one of the best in the Gin category.
