Features

Gordon's London Dry Gin is carefully distilled from a secret recipe. The distinctively refreshing taste comes from the best hand picked juniper berries, and other selected  botanicals. It's the taste that has become the world's best selling Gin.

The secret of the exact botanical blend is sealed on the lips of only eleven people in the world, a secret that has been kept by an astonishing 240 years. Gordon's London Dry Gin is triple distilled and believed that some of its ingredients are juniper berries, coriander, angelica root, licorice, orris root, orange peel and lemon, ginger, cassia oil and nutmeg. According to Gordon's, 3000 botanicals are used in the search to find the right mix of flavors to create their consistent flavor. Gordon's juniper berries  are stored for two years to strengthen oils and encourage flavors. This intensifies the flavor of juniper and is said to be the reason behind the more traditional profile of Gordon's.

Gordon's London Dry Gin was, and remains, one of the original players and one of the first quality gins mass produced in the world. Only this itself is an amazing feat. It is also fair to say that its development, technical and continuous growth for over 200 years, has created a market for many other Gins to be created in the first place. They are undeniable pioneers and deserve recognition and validation.

History

The iconic Gordon's reputation has been built since its initial conception in 1769 by Alexander Gordon, in a distillery in Southwark. The production then moved to Clerkenwell in 1786, during that time the Gin sailed the seas through the 1800s, creating legions of fans worldwide. Gordon's had a great demand and in some cases was generously paid in gold dust. The British Distillery is now in Laindon, Basildon, Essex to meet the high demands of production. In its production is still used the Old Tom, a copper still dating back over 200 years.

In 1925, the Gordon's Gin received its first Royal Approval by King George V. In 1941 and 1952, Gordon's got two more Royals released by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, respectively.

The strange beast that graces the cover is actually a boar. Legend said that during a hunting trip, an ancestor of Clan Gordon rescued King of Scotland from an attack by a wild boar. It was then that was born the emblem, and from then always appeared on the label of each bottle.
