Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial comes from the Vega Sicilia vineyard, where the grapes were harvested and selected by hand. It is located at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level and has a surface area of 210 hectares and an average lifespan of 35 years.

Made with Tinto Fino and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial rests unhurriedly for 18 months in new barrels and 30 months more in used barrels, managing to capture the flavours and aromas they bring, resulting in a wine with great presence and elegant character, which gives us the essence of Vega Sicilia.

Vega Sicilia is a brand that, although it existed before, was acquired by the Alvárez family in 1982. Years later, Alión was born, a wine that arrived with an air of modernity, marking a before and after in the way of seeing wine at Vega Sicilia.

Some time later, it made history once again with the founding of Tojak-Oremus, where respect and admiration for the history and tradition of one of the most renowned wines in the world merged with the technological innovation of the Álvarez family.

The latest milestone comes with Macán, the union of two recognised names in the international wine world; Benjamín de Rothschild and Vega Sicilia. It takes place in the Rioja designation of origin, and they look forward to the future, which they intend to fill with great creations for the enjoyment of wine enthusiasts.
