Why buy Discontinued Wine Pingus 2017

Pingus 2017. Peter Sisseck's dream come true. Year after year, this wine lover and wine expert continues to add to his legend with exclusive creations, and Pingus 2017 was not to be any less. It has the admiration of the most select critics in the world of wine, both nationally and internationally.

Pingus 2017 is a Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero, made under the precepts of biodynamics by Peter Sisseck. It has aged in new French oak barrels for 23 months, forming and acquiring all the aromas that make up this premium wine.

This wine, which achieved a score of 96 points on the Parker scale, is born from the 4.2 hectares of tinto fino planted in 1929, in Barroso and San Cristóbal. The former is characterised by its gravel and sandy soils, which hide a subsoil of clay and lime.

San Cristóbal, on the other hand, is a hillside of clayey soil facing southwest. Pingus 2017 brings with it all the essence of these extraordinary lands, which, for years, have been giving us wines of the highest quality.

The Pingus 2017 vintage will go down in history for the heavy frost that took place in April, in addition to the winter drought, which made the vines struggle to recover in order to give us the best grapes. As a result, a very concentrated, intense and complex wine that will continue to surprise you sip after sip.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

When pouring a Pingus 2017, we are immediately struck by its intense cherry red colour with bright violet reflections.

After allowing the glass to aerate, the nose is refined and cordial, with clear floral notes.

On the palate it is a wine with presence, showing impeccable texture and density. Highly complex, it has a number of nuances and aromas that envelop the palate with their presence. Long and elegant finish.

Pairing. How to taste it

Pingus 2017 is an extraordinary wine flattered by the best wine tasters in the world, which undoubtedly deserves a place to accompany us in the most memorable moments of life.

It is perfect to drink with red meats. Ideally, it should be served in a glass at a temperature of between 16 and 18 ºC, in order to appreciate all the flavour and aromas of Pingus 2017 as it deserves.

A little bit of history about Pingus 2017...

Pingus was born in 1995 as a result of the enthusiasm of Peter Sisseck, a wine lover who, since the first year of Pingus, has turned it into a cult wine. He makes his wines with red fino grapes almost 100 years old, from the Barroso, San Cristóbal and Santa Cruz vineyards.

Pingus, the name of his wines, was chosen in honour of how his acquaintances affectionately referred to him as a child.
