A Little History about Duvel Barrel Aged Batch 7 Irish Whiskey...
Duvel is a world-famous Belgian beer that has been brewed since 1923 by the family brewery Duvel Moortgat.
Its name means "devil" in Flemish, due to its strong flavor and high alcohol content.
The history of Duvel begins in 1871 when Jan-Leonard Moortgat establishes the Moortgat brewery farm in Breendonk, near Brussels. His son Albert takes over the production and, along with his brother Victor, decides to create a new beer for their generation. To do so, he travels to Scotland and brings back a special yeast that gives the beer a unique and distinctive character.
Thus, Victory Ale is born, later renamed Duvel after a friend who tastes it exclaims, "This is a true devil!". Since then, Duvel has become one of the most recognized and appreciated beers in the world, maintaining its original recipe and its artisanal process of double fermentation and bottle aging.
