Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

On serving, The Macallan Edition No. 5 is striking in its beautiful sunlit barley colour. The nose exudes delicate aromas of vanilla and toffee with hints of oak, nutmeg, ginger, lemon basil and pear. On the palate, there is a luscious fresh and sweet taste with notes of toffee, poached peaches and ripe pear; followed by a caramel sweetness with light oak spice in the form of nutmeg and hints of ginger in the background and a lingering, sweet finish.

Macallan is the distillery that invests the most money and time in the acquisition, processing, seasoning and care of the casks that are key to achieving its exquisite and complex flavour, aroma and final colours. Created in 1824, it has achieved international recognition.
