A historic sailboat

Cutty Sark owes its name to a legendary scotch boat that was built to transport Chinese tea and wool in the 19 century. It has become a museum, and currently you can see it in Greendwich.

The brand was raised in 1923, when Francis Berry and Hugh Rudd made this whisky for the first time with one objective: sell it in U.S.A. against the Dry Law (that had been approved in 1920). After this period finished, in 1933, Cutty Sark had become one of the most famouse whisky brands. As a curiosity, the yellow color of the label was a printing mistake.

Cutty Sark has appeared on TV thanks to two iconic characters: Toni Soprano and Donald Draper, what a pair! Even it has been shown on the cinemas for example in this scene of the very famous mob film Goodfellas (1990)
