Why buy Whisky Glenkinchie 12 Years Boxed Bottle

The Glenkinchie 12 years bottle will replace the 10 year old bottle as the main expression of the Lowland Whisky in the range of classic malts. This Glenkinchie 12 years has a slightly fuller and more complex taste.

The Glenkinchie distillery is located in the valley of Kinchie Burn, near the village of Pencaitland, East Lothian, about 25 miles west of Edinburgh. The name is probably derived from Kinchie De Quincy, the name of the original owners of the land.

The distillery was founded in 1825 by the brothers John and George Rate, originally called "Milton Distillery" and later the brothers changed the name in 1837 to "Glenkinchie". In 1853 John Rate sold the distillery to a farmer named Christie who transformed it into a sawmill. Following the distillery production stopped until 1881 when it was purchased by a consortium of Edinburgh. In 1914 five distilleries in the Lowlands, including Glenkinchie united to create Uniron Scottish Malt Distillers (SMD); more than a decade later, SMD was bought by Distillers Company Limited. During World War Glenkinchie was one of the few distilleries in Scotland that remained in production.

The Glenkinchie label was relatively unknown until 1988, when United Distillers started marketing it under their Classic Malts Range. The 12 years bottle was first launched in 2007 to replace the 10 year version.

Nose: is light, fruity, and fragrant: apples, honey, oranges, and a malty sweetness are all there, followed by a touch of white chocolate. All in all rather pleasant and quite elegant.

Palate: is light-bodied and a tad peppery. Apples and honey are back, now accompanied by notes of cheesecake and some tannic dryness.

Finish: is of medium length, both fruity and grassy, and gets dry towards the end.

Muy buen precio

Glenkinchie 12 años está mucho más barato que en la licorería. Eso me animó a comprarlo y todo fue genial. Habéis ganado un cliente.
