Why buy Red Wine Quinta de Tarsus Crianza

Quinta de Tarsus with DO Ribera del Duero, has managed to extract the excellence of the native varieties.

Made from 100% Tinta del País grapes, it has been made for 20-30 days at a temperature of between 24° and 26°, in order to achieve a greater load of fruit. It has been aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, a third of which are new, as they are changed every three years, and the rest, one to two years.

The DO Ribera Del Duero is an appellation that includes the vineyards located in Castile and Leon, within the Duero River basin, which is approximately 115 kilometres long and 35 kilometres wide and located between the different municipalities of Soria, Burgos, Segovia and Valladolid. The vast majority of the wines under this denomination are reds, although there are also some rosés.

The most characteristic grape is the Tinta del país, better known as Tempranillo, which constitutes more than 90% of the production. But not just any red wine can carry this denomination on its label. To be able to wear it, it must include at least 75% Tempranillo in its production. No less than 95% of the grapes must be Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec, although Garnacha and Albillo grapes are also allowed but in small quantities. Tinta del País is a medium production vine that produces structured wines with the capacity to age, due to its low oxidative level.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

When it is served in the glass we see a very characteristic ruby colour, deep and intense aromas of berries such as redcurrant combined with the toasted and spicy aromas of the barrel, its taste is fruity with a pleasant tannin.

Pairing. How to taste it

Serve at a temperature of 14°- 17° and with red meat, big game and cured cheese.

A Pioneering Vineyard

Surrounding the winery, which is located in Anguix (Burgos), at an approximate altitude of between 700 and 1,000 metres, is the winery's vineyard, which has been in existence for over 20 years, and which is mostly planted with Tinta del País grapes. The vineyard is divided into 21 plots, depending on the type of soil, the variety and the orientation of each one of them.

The sands that make up the vineyard are poor in iron and not very fertile, which means that the production is low but of high quality. The climate is continental and extreme, with rainfall of between 450 and 500 mm per year, which gives the wine acidity and great richness in sugars.
