Life is made for brave and rebellious people, who look for something different and fight to achieve it. 19 Crimes The Uprising Rum Aged Red Wines brings us from its Australian winery this red wine with a daring taste, very different from what we are used to from our Spanish wines.
In homage to Australia's rum rebellion of 1808, the government was hindering the rum trade, citizens and soldiers united to overthrow it.
And so was born 19 Crimes The Uprising Rum Aged Red Wine, a wine made with selected syrah, grenache and cabernet Sauvignon grape clusters, where it is then aged for 30 days in rum oak barrels, which is quite noticeable on the palate with creamy chocolatey notes, vanilla and caramel, very unique and risky, but will leave you surprised.

A little bit of history about 19 Crimes The Uprising Rum Aged Red Wine...
During the 18th century, the United Kingdom suffered from overcrowding in its prisons. To remedy this situation, the nation's leaders decided to publish a list of 19 crimes for which you were irretrievably deported to Australia, at that time a British colony. In other words, you were freed a priori from the death penalty and were eligible for a new life.
The truth is that the voyage to the "New World" was not a rosy one, and hundreds of these prisoners, condemned among other things for having clandestine marriages, passing themselves off as Egyptians or cutting and burning their clothes, drowned at sea when the ship they were on sank. Several of them survived, however, and arrived in Australia with new ideas, forging a new country. It is to these survivors that Treasury Wine Estates pays homage in its wines, showing their face and history on the labels of all its varieties.
