Why buy Gin Puerto de Indias Pure Black Edition
Spring is all about intensity and splurge. It is precisely this time of year that inspired the Spanish company Puerto de Indias to launch its Puerto de Indias Black variety at the end of 2015, a drink that absorbs all the intensity of the flowering season in a bottle.
A time of intense colours and scents, it is a hymn to life, the time of year when all the elements are reborn to flood every corner of the world in which we live with hope and happiness.
Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
The smells and flavours of Andalusia are its attraction. Touches of orange and lemon join forces with orange blossom, jasmine and vanilla to produce a premium gin of national character at very affordable prices. Puerto de Indias Black has nothing to envy to those high-class gins, on the contrary, because this Andalusian liquor offers quality for all budgets.
Pairing. How to taste it
Puerto de Indias Black is a gin aimed at those who love traditional gin and tonics. Enclosed in an elegant black chrome bottle, the perfect touch to enjoy its flavour is to accompany it with tonic and orange peel, two combinations that are embedded in the palate. Although, as we always say, the consumer is free to choose the best combination.
A little bit of history about Puerto de Indias Pure Black Edition...
The year was 1492 when Christopher Columbus docked in the Bahamas on his quest to reach India. The navigator had just discovered America a little more than two months after leaving the Port of Palos in Huelva. This marked the beginning of a buoyant period for the Spanish economy as a result of exports from the newly discovered continent. This made Seville the nerve centre of humanity, since, thanks to its location and the Guadalquivir River, most of the products coming from America passed through it.
This period is commemorated by Puerto de Indias, the distillery located in Carmona (Seville). The company began in 1880, when Izaguirre, a Basque emigrant fleeing the Carlist wars, decided to settle in the Sevillian town. Here, after observing the excellent spring water, he decided to start building a distillery, producing the first Andalusian pacharán. This was followed by other beverages such as aniseed and premium gins, one of the greatest successes of the Sevillian distillery.
