Plymouth is a craft gin that combines the best of old and new processes of production.
The Plymouth gin has a long history. The distillery in Plymouth, where it is made, goes back at least to 1793 and there is no reason not to believe that distillation may have been carried out in these places even much earlier. Certainly this distillery can boast of being the oldest distillery in the UK. The building is also known for being the place where the Pilgrim Fathers gathered before leaving for America on the Mayflower in 1620.
Although the Plymouth Gin is made in exactly the same way as London Dry Gin it is the only UK has a geographical name. The result of a series of legal decisions in the 1880s when London distillers began to produce a Plymouth gin, established then legally the Plymouth gin could only be made within the city walls of Plymouth.
The final product is clean, with good body, very soft and silky on the palate, well harmonized. Smell, juniper perceived gently.
