Why buy Gin Seagram's Gin

Seagram's Extra Dry Gin is one of the most deeply rooted gins in the world, due among other things to its excellent value for money. Try Seagram's Extra Dry Gin if you haven't tried it, it will be your premium Geneva of reference ever since.

As far as its elaboration is concerned, tradition marks the strict process through which it must pass until its creation. Firstly, after obtaining the neutral alcohol from American grain, a double distillation is carried out by mixing the alcohol with the products mentioned above. Secondly and lastly, it is left to ferment in oak barrels in the manner of the best whiskeys so that all the elements come together to achieve the flavour that characterises Seagram's.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

The first aspect that attracts the attention of Seagram's Extra Dry Gin is its color, because despite being the classic transparent of a drink of this type, when you look at it you can see a slight glint of gold. Once the first glance has been taken, and bringing the nostrils closer to the pale liquor, a timid herbal aroma penetrates through them, a prelude to a strong alcohol smell. Finally, Seagram's Extra Dry Gin is dry in the mouth with a slight hint of herbs, the fruit of the five ingredients used in its production: juniper berries, bitter orange peel, angelica root, coriander and cardamom.

How to taste it. Marriage

Although it accepts several variants in its tasting, two stand out above the rest. The first, as a component of a classic Dry Martini, accompanies the vermouth and the solitary olive that "dives" inside the glass. The second option is to link it with a tonic, forming a traditional gintonic both for its taste and its appearance that equates it to the height of gins of higher range and price.

Alone or accompanied

It was one of the star products of the Seagram company, one of the largest distilleries in the world until its closure in 2000. The company, created in Canada in 1857 by Joseph E. Seagram, experienced great success after the end of the so-called American Dry Law (1933), presenting an extensive catalogue of whiskeys to which its first gin would be incorporated in 1939. After passing through the hands of various presidents, in 2000 the company closed definitively after a series of bad investments in sectors such as entertainment, gas or oil. After that, the drinks section was left in the hands of the company Pernord Ricard, acquiring names such as Chivas Regal or Passport Scotch.
