The name Elios is inspired by the Greek word for sun, Helios.

Elios is produced by José Mas, a  talented young winemaker of the Priorat region of Catalonia, Spain. They have a farm of 20 acres and are great supporters of sustainable winemakeing.

Elios has all the hallmarks of a Priorat: deep mineral aromas and good structure, however, is young and is designed to be enjoyable and a great economical way to get to know the wines of Priorat.

Elios is a blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Shiraz.

In the winery, the grapes are hand selected and each vineyard is vinified separately in small tanks. In the region, this is called 'Clos', the wine made from the grapes of a single vineyard.
With a time of minimum 10 months aging in French oak barrels, the wine reach maturity and is bottled to wait for the final step, refinement in bottle for 3 months.

Costers del Priorat Winery is located in a mountain setting near the village of Bellmunt of Priorat, within the Designation of Origin Priorat. The winery has one of the best farms in the area, consisting of 20 hectares, mostly planted with old vines of Grenache and Carignan with an age between 40 -. 100 years, where the grapes for the production of the best are selected wine cellar and has recently expanded the estate with new vineyards of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are planted in very small terraces on floors "licorella" slate, with few productions where the work in the vineyards are practically manuals.

Color: It has an intense cherry color.

Nose: Aromas of violet, caramel, currant fruit, strawberries and plums and gooseberries.

Palate: Medium bodied, soft and fruity entry into mouth, with round tannins and warm. A little rustic but juicy and very appealing. A wonderful expression of Priorat.
