Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

A wide Burgundian-style bottle protects this brandy made from a white wine distillate that has been aged for several years in American oak barrels. With a colour close to old gold, dark topaz, Torres 10 Años has aromas of cinnamon and vanilla, and is intense on the nose. Finally, on the palate it is persistent, oily and rich in tannins, with the presence of oak as an essential element.

The best way to enjoy Torres 10 años brandy is neat, without ice and in a glass. Start with small sips and then take larger ones so that your taste buds get used to it and you can appreciate all its nuances.

One of the main culprits behind the success of this clan from Vilafranca del Pedenès is undoubtedly their Torres 10 Years brandy. Created in 1946, in the middle of a difficult and dark period for Spain, it was born after a careful grape selection process and a long ageing in American oak barrels, two hallmarks that make this brandy one of the icons of this variety worldwide.

The Torres company's 10-year-old variety is made using the traditional solera process, which consists of stacking three rows of casks, with the one closest to the ground containing the most mature liquor and the youngest the casks higher up. Thus, for bottling, the contents of the lower barrels are emptied and the upper barrels are refilled and so on. In this way, the quality and ageing of the product is ensured in its entirety.
