Machaquito Seco is an aniseed made after a double distillation of alcohol, demineralised and decalcified water, sugar and matalahúga aniseed kernels.
Its production is carried out in copper stills in a completely artisanal manner, using the heat generated by olive or oak wood.
At first glance, it is colorless.
With a genuine and intense aroma of fennel.
On the palate, we perceive a dry anise flavor, with the persistent taste of fennel.
It can be consumed neat in a short glass, on the rocks, or even in a tall glass mixed with cold water, ice, and a little sugar.
In the year 1860 privately and officially in 1876, Rafael Reyes Rodríguez transitioned from being a laborer to becoming an artisanal manufacturer, starting to create spirits.
This anise was absent from the market for some time until, in 1965, the family took over the family business again, and the company "Hijo de Rafael Reyes, S.A." was born.
Today, children and grandchildren share the daily life of the company, following the footsteps that Rafael Reyes began in the late 19th century, at the pace of mules.
