Why buy Pacharan Basarana 20

If you want to try a Pacharán that fits your eyes and mouth Basarana 20 is yours. The best of Navarre in a bottle.

Every land has its own star product. Wherever we go, the inhabitants of each region of the world proudly display recipes and delicacies that have been made for centuries, thanks to the imagination, intelligence and work of the people who populated those lands. Thus, in Asturias we can find cider, in La Rioja the love for good wine, or in Navarre the passion for pacharán. The latter includes Basarana 20, an exquisite sloe liqueur that also reduces its alcohol graduation is 20 degrees.

Included in the product catalogue of the Basarana Las Cadenas Group, formerly Hijos de Pablo Esparza Bodegas Navarra, Basarana 20 is one of the star products of the Navarrese company. It all begins with the use of the best raw materials, which are essential to ensure that quality lives up to the historical standards of the Esparza family. Thus, the best sloes are harvested by hand, observing them one by one to detect imperfections and ensure that they deserve the honour of being part of Basarana 20. The fruit is then naturally macerated for a period of six months, after which the desired flavour has been achieved and can be placed in the hands of consumers. As we said, there is nothing to envy Basarana 20 to a Premium range pacharán, as the production process is the same, with the only variation in alcohol content: the first 20 degrees and the second 25, which means that Basarana 20 is considered to be an Endrine Liqueur instead of pacharán.

Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste

A classic bottle of pacharán, rectangular in body and narrow and rounded at the top, is responsible for protecting the sloe liqueur of Grupo Basarana Las Cadenas from prying eyes. Once opened, it releases fruity aromas, with the sloe playing a prominent role. Once poured into the glass, it has an intense ruby colour, leaving a velvety, bitter taste on the palate caused by the fruit that nests inside it.

Pairing. How to taste it

As for the best way to taste it, from I put the ice we recommend to do it alone. However, it should be refrigerated beforehand so that its taste is refreshing. It can also be tasted with ice, although the sediment of the water will change the nuances of the sloe liqueur. Another way to delight it is by combining it and making the popular "butane", a drink that consists of mixing pacharán with orange juice or soda.

More than a century delighting the Navarrese palates

It was 1872 when Pablo Esparza Velázquez de Carvajal founded his own company in the town of Falces in Navarra. At first the distillery sold wines and spirits, among which aniseed was undoubtedly the most important, which over the years would become known as Las Cadenas. With this product they crossed the frontiers of the region, improving their production and flavour generation after generation until in the fourth they presented for the first time pacharán Basarana, the second jewel in the crown of a historic family.

It's in the Top 10 of economic and cheap products of Pacharan and in the Top 870 of our best seller products.
