Why buy Discontinued Wine Montecastro
Montecastro is a red wine from the IO Ribera del Duero made by Bodegas Montecastro.
This wine is a Tempranillo (100%). The wine is aged in concrete tanks and French oak barrels (70%) and American (30%) for 19 months.
Marqués de Montecastro y Llanahermosa was founded in 2001 by Alfonso de Salas, under the baton of French winemaker Bertrand Erhard. Its wines have been obtained from a Tempranillo vineyards with an age of 8 to 100 years in five different types of soils, and elevations between 655 and 1066 meters. Diversity in vineyards, different soil types and differences in altitude, result in a multifaceted essential crop for maximum complexity of a mono-varietal Tempranillo product. The production process focuses on the retention and rich grape tannins, resulting in sophisticated and complex wines.
The design of the modern winery, emulates traditional feature fireplace (zarcera) groundwater medieval cellars in the area, and serves the dual purpose of providing natural ventilation and daylighting.
This wine is only made when vintage conditions are optimal. If they are not, the grapes are used to make Alcontre, a lighter wine with a shorter aging.
Within the framework of the excellent 2009 vintage, Montescastro is both classic and modern. You can find all the flavors and aromas of the Ribera del Duero wine combined in this.
Color: cherry red is medium-high layer even more fucking darkness. Very satiny, with a dense and quiet tear.
Nose: the spicy attack then becomes forest fruit candy. Aromas of earth and sweet anise. Aeration brings back memories of chocolate liqueur and aniseed notes.
Taste: Roasted Light, cocoa and vanilla stand in mouth. From brisk but good looks and balanced acidity present in the aftertaste. It is fresh, with final notes of cherry and very good persistence on the palate. With cinnamon and oxygenation brings a fortified point of fine cognac.
It's in the Top 110 of economic and cheap products of Discontinued Wine and in the Top 2680 of our best seller products.
