Tasting notes. Sight, smell and taste
Each of its ingredients is macerated separately with distilled albariño grapes, thus obtaining a range of flavours that, when combined, provide the unmistakable taste of Nordés, which has an alcohol volume of 40%. Not many gins base their flavour on the distillate of the albariño grape, a white grape variety from Galicia that is often used in the production of Galician wines.
In Nordés Atlantic Galician Gin, each of its fourteen distinctive botanicals is macerated separately with albariño grapes for six days and then all the flavours are blended together in a process known as 'blending' to achieve the quintessential Atlantic gin. After blending, the drink spends half a year stabilising its properties before undergoing alcohol reduction, the last step before Nordés gin is bottled. The wild ingredients used also come from different parts of Galicia, providing the characteristic and unmistakable aroma of Nordés gin. They are sage, laurel, hierba caralleira, lemon verbena, eucalyptus, lemon peel, cardamom, juniper, quinine, ginger, hibiscus, liquorice, tea and salicornia, a marine plant.
Pairing. How to taste it
To get the most out of this blend, we recommend chilling the gin in the freezer, which adds a fresh taste to the already cooling aromas of Nordés.
