Why buy Gin Fifty Pounds

The name comes from the time of the Gin Act of 1736, when a 50 pound tax was applied to those who produce and sell gin. Only two distilleries agreed to pay the tax!

Fifty Pounds is produced in a small legendary distillery located in southeast London, with a tradition of more than two centuries. The production method is carried out in a still manufactured by the legendary John Dore & Co Limited, in which a perfectly balanced combination of herbs, spices, fruits and flowers, along with grain alcohol (neutral alcohol, previously distilled four times to achieve greater purity) was distilled.

The resulting distillate is allowed to stand for at least three weeks, allowing botanical essential oils to combined perfectly with grain alcohol.

The inspiration for the name of this gin comes from the Gin Act of 1736 that virtually halted the sales of gin, to impose a minimum unit of sale of two gallons and a price of £ 1 per gallon. It also required retailers to buy an annual license of £ 50 (equivalent to a year's salary).

Each bottle comes in a unique bottle with a design inspired by the first bottles of gin, gin known as design case. Each bottle is numbered individually batch distillation, along with the year that was distilled.

Nose: lemon, lime, juniper, very classic seen in his character. Just a touch of sweetness with a touch of creamy lemon. The nose is noticeably lighter and clearer than on the palate.

Palate: followed by lemon juniper, coriander and angelica stands. Just a little spicy, with citrus blossoms in the center. The finish hints at anise, angelica, juniper and citrus rind. Finished in the very dry palate
