The beginnings of Erdinger Weißbräu go back to 1886, the year it was first officially recorded the construction of a wheat brewery in Erding. After several changes of ownership, the General Manager at the time, Franz Brombach, bought the brewery in 1935 and re-named Erdinger Weißbräu in December 27, 1949.

Erdinger Dunkel is a special type of dunkelweizen wheat beer with a rich, smooth flavor. It owes its full-bodied and flavor to the hops and dark malt used in its production.

This black variety of wheat beer is brewed according to an ancient recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the largest proportion (approximately 13%) of original wort. However withthe 5.3% alcohol does not contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier.

Like all Erdinger wheat beers, this dark variety also acquires its typical flavor from a fermentation process in the bottle. Years of brewing experience with the latest technology ensuring excellent quality.
