Red Bull

History

The Red Bull GmbH company was created by Chaleo Yooidhya and Dietrich Mateschitz in the 80s, although the first can was sold on April 1, 1987 in Austria, being a completely new launch in the market for being an energy drink.

Its founders based the drink on "Karting Daeng", a popular tonic sold in gas stations in Thailand because it prevented drivers from falling asleep at the wheel.

In 2008 the brand was already present in 148 countries and its turnover increased almost 8% year-on-year under the great success of the founders to call it "an energy drink and after reinvesting all its benefits in the process of building the brand.

Today the brand is present in more than 150 countries, being the most sold energy drink in the world, with more than 6,000 million cans sold annually.

Logo and campaigns

The logo of the Red Bull brand is two red bulls facing each other with their heads down while pointing their horns at each other, all under the name "Red Bull" and above the words "Energy Drink".

As for advertising campaigns, it is worth noting the many and varied campaigns under the slogan "Red Bull de aaalas", in which the brand aims to deepen the energy effect experienced when drinking this drink.

Interesting facts

Contrary to some urban legends about the origin of taurine, we speak of an organic acid that is found in small quantities in the tissues of many animals, including humans, and its name derives from the Latin "taurus", when it was first isolated in the bile of the bull in 1827.

The brand has been present in many of the most important events, such as the EC ice hockey team Red Bull Salzburg, Felix Baumgartner's jump from the stratosphere, Vettel's four consecutive Formula 1 world titles or FC Salzburg's Europa League semi-finals.
