Nordes

History

Nordés is a premium gin born in Galicia in 2012. In a meeting of several friends, where they were, Xoan Torres Cannas, a renowned sommelier and the winemaker Juan Luis Mendez, along with a businessman and a master distiller.
They decided to create a gin of Galician origin, with ingredients from there, making it different from other gins. Made with an Albariño grape base, they found a unique formula with the essence of Galicia.

Their iconic bottle is inspired by the traditional ceramics made in Sargadelos, where they have very unique designs. Using the colour white and blue.
The name of our gin is a tribute to the NORDÉS wind that in Galicia announces the good weather.

In addition, on the bottle we can distinguish several elements, such as the world map that places the Galician origin of Nordés and the wind rose, an evocative icon that speaks of the Atlantic character and the relationship with the wind of our premium gin.

Production and Identity

Nordés gin is distilled in a small distillery located in the Ulla Valley, in the municipality of San Pedro de Sarandón near Santiago de Compostela. It is noted for its natural beauty, and for the production of excellent Galician eaux-de-vie.
The Nordés base is through a selection of blended neutral alcohol of agricultural origin.

Made from albariño grapes, native to Galicia, the distillate is blended with 11 natural botanicals, including 6 wild Galician botanicals: sage, lemon verbena, laurel, mint, piperita, eucalyptus, and a seaweed, salicornia. In addition, juniper, cardamom, ginger, hibiscus and Ceylon black tea are added, giving this gin an exceptional purity and aroma.

A slow and careful process is carried out, where the Albariño grapes are distilled using the Bain Marie process and the botanicals are macerated one by one and separately with this Albariño wine distillate.

Nordés is the first Atlantic Galician Gin, with a gin that breaks with the classic elaborations. Its character, flavour and aromas take us to the freshness, simplicity and the Galician way of enjoying.

Nordés is made for the most demanding palates, thanks to its flavour and identity, spreading very quickly and becoming known in the best bars and houses, standing out in the rankings of the best rated gins and making a relevant place for itself among the best Spanish gins.

Although it entered the premium gin market in 2012, being only a few years old, Nordés gin goes beyond the Galician borders by expanding rapidly both in the national and international market with its Atlantic gin and tonic.

Nordés also continues to expand around the world, where it is enjoyed in more than 25 countries.
